Germinates better if it has a period of cold; either outdoors or in the fridge. Either sow in the fall, or early in the spring before last frost. Scatter seeds and cover with a bit of soil; 1/2″ at most. You can also plant indoors and transplant out, about 12-18″ apart. If you fall-plant or plant very early it may flower in its first summer; but expect it to really get down to the business of blooming in the second year.
