Corn Sheller

$30.00

Dry corn (Zea mays) can be shelled using just your hands. If it forms a large part of your diet or you need a lot at once, this job can be time consuming and make your hands sore. This simple tool allows you to quickly and easily shell plenty of corn for eating.

To use, insert a cob in the wide end of the sheller and twist it through. The ridges will knock off the kernels. If the large end of the cob doesn’t fit through, you can flip it end for end to get the last few kernels. Don’t hold the sheller completely horizontal or the loose kernels will tend to fill up the troughs and plug. Work inside a container of some sort or corn will go everywhere.

The opening on the large end is 1 ¼” square, the small end is ⅝” square. We offer two heights of sheller; the taller should last a bit longer since it has more tooth material for the same amount of taper, the shorter is easier to use because more of the cob sticks out for you to hold onto. If you want a different opening size or a different height, just let us know and we can make a custom one at no extra cost.

These corn shellers are handmade by us; they are functional, but not perfect.
