Early plants produce small, beautiful brown and olive bicoloured seeds. Apparently from Sapporo, Japan and brought to North America by the United States Department of Agriculture in the 1920s or 30s.

Plant just after the frost-free date. Sow 1-2” deep, 3” apart in rows 7-9” apart. Harvest for edamame when seeds are full-sized but still green, or let them dry down on the plants just like beans.
